Wow! I've had some crazy response to my "Should I Ask My Teacher My Question" Chart" I'm super excited about all the new visitors to my site. Over 2000 new visitors in the last couple of days!
I do have to thank my co-director Terry Everts. This chart started as a conversation we were having about students and their random questions.
Check back here in the coming weeks, and I'll try to make sure it's worth the stop!

I may even post something worth reading.
If you've never visited the website www.oddquartet.com, you need to. This is an online webcomic about all things music. There are some great musical in jokes, as well as Dr. Who and other sci-fi references. His most know work is the "Should You Be Practicing" Flow Chart.
If you are a music nerd, get over there, They also have a nice store with T-shirts and posters. I have two of these posters in my office!
The art is great, and, if you're into the subject matter, you'll be hooked. Go now.
Well, my Texas Music Educators Association clinic is official. I will be presenting a free online music resources clinic at TMEA as a part of the TI:ME pre-conference if anyone is going to that convention, come by!
Well, I got motivated and created a jazz clarinet lesson today. So, for you 8 other jazz clarinet players in the world I present:
10 Licks for Jazz Clarinet
This lesson provides music for licks from Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Eddie Daniels, and others. I also recorded the examples on, you guessed it, clarinet.
Hope this is useful for someone!
As a teacher, you have to answer so many questions, many of which are a waste of time. I've created this chart to help you decide if you should ask your question or not. Printable PDF at bottom in Color or Black/white.
